3 Engineer Assist limit?

While reading the wiki, I came across two mentions of a 3 Engineer build-assist limit. I tested in-game, and more than 3 Engineers seemed capable of helping a dock/shipyard build faster.

What's the story here? Is the wiki outdated? Am I wasting resources? I don't see anything on the Engineer tooltip in-game about an assist limit.

"There are no restrictions on how many engineers can simultaneously repair any given ship. There is a three-engineer limit for assisting constructors (Docks/Factories), but this limit does not apply to repairs. "
