Unable to Register Impulse CD Keys on Steam
« on: December 20, 2011, 09:09:47 PM »
I was able to registered my Zenith CD key on my steam account. However it said that for base game cd, the cd key is a duplicate already in used.

For the other 2 cd key they just say please active the base game first blah blah.

I am not sure what to do in this case. Since I would like to register my base game.

Hi there,

Thanks for your support of our work, and welcome to the forums!  To resolve this issue, please see the following thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1543880

You'll need to PM BurtonJ, and he can take care of this for you.  It's an annoying hassle caused by pirates, but it does get the issue resolved fairly quickly.  Sorry about that!

Thank you for your time. I was surprised that this game was pirated like this especially given no DRM.

My pleasure. And yep, pirates take advantage of the lack of drm to get free copies on steam, blocking real customers from registering their keys with steam (since a given key can only be registered once). Since drm doesn't work anyhow, the problem would happen either way, but basically it only can happen with the single bottleneck of trying to register a non-steam key with steam. It's frustrating all around, but hopefully that makes sense!
