gamestop has had some awful press. I wouldn't trust them. A quick perusal of Google should get you up to date. The future of videogames is not brick-and-mortar, so unless they change their business, they're going to end up like Blockbuster.

Considering that BB might have saved itself with its deals with the movie industries, I'm hoping Gamestop suffers a worse fate than BB.  (like dying).

Just a quick thought, but maybe this topic should be moved to "Off-topic"?  Its not exactly central to AIW really and we have taken it off the road, through the jungles and driven off the cliff as far as the OP is concerned :P

Pretty much what other people have said already. Gamestop has done some pretty scummy things lately where customers have been disregarded in favor of either profit or hindering competitors (the removal of the on-line redeemables from the Deus Ex boxes is one thing).

Yea, that was one of those "Really, guys?" moments.  Even from a purely selfish perspective they should have seen that it would hurt them more than help them.  And even the relatively-low average level of integrity that remains nowadays surely would have chafed at the idea of that pilferage...  I wonder if one of their legal department executives lost a bet or something.
