Money drops.

last few games i notised that my monney per second keeps dropign for a moment then returning to normal. i can be sitting at + 800 crystal and metal per second then sudenly go down to -200 for a moment then back up. it kept anoying me to see that so i looked around to see what was causing it while paused. building ships? no all caped on everything. repairing ships? there all siting on ym planet not fighting anything. building turrets? nothing. any one know what this is?

Were your engineers repairing anything? That will cause it.

If you pause while it is dropped, you can look on one of the tabs in the stats menu and it will show you all inflows and outflows. Most likely it is engineers doing something periodically.

Ok, paused it, looked in my flow chart as suggested (thanks didn't know that was there) and i cant find it. I'm at -2k and at most the numbers should at up to -200.
