do ice pirates damage enemies?

I'm not really sure. Also, how about explosions from when the large tanklike crawler is destroyed.

Explosions do (so you can shoot barrels to damage enemies), but ice pirates do not.  They used to, but for balance reasons we stopped having them do that.

There are barrels?  I haven't noticed them, what do they look like?

They're in the junkyards only.  They look like a bright steel barrel with patches of moss on it. :)
