A) I like to be able to play games on trains, planes and automobiles, where internet is often patchy at best.

B) If the internet goes out at home, one of the things I'd like to do to pass the time is play a game.

C) I rarely play online multiplayer.

But sure, maybe over half the time I want to play a game I have an internet connection, so I see where you're coming from. I'm just not sure why anyone would want to alienate their player base for any reason, least of all because they don't find my position legitimate!

How'd it go?

I know it's after the fact now but aside from all the above (which is all really great advice) the best piece of advice I could give someone on learning lines is to buy into them emotionally. If you can immerse yourself in it sufficiently that you feel like what you're saying is actually resonates emotionally with you, it will carry you amazingly far. So much so that dropping or switching words or phrases becomes nigh unnoticeable to all but the keenest audiences. For an audition doubly so - they're looking less at how good your memory is (although it's obviously important) and more at how well you perform.

Coupled with repetition and the kinds of multiple sensory input mentioned above, it'll just become second nature to recite, and recite believably.

Can I give my first impressions?

I'll be honest, fellas, it's sounding great  but... it could use a few more slices.

Anyway, the point is if Zero Punctuation involved the drug acid, it would probably be a lot more abstract, make a lot let sense, and involve far fewer words!

And there's the final proof that I'm not british. I couldn't make out a word that guy was saying.
I'm not british either, but I understood him no problem. Although this one is much more aurally pleasant:

Because it's Kiwi?

Yup, the GOG version of DK is the only one I know of which works on a modern setup. Love those guys!

adds sixteen gallons of acid (the dissolving kind, not the drug)
I'm not entirely certain that clarification is correct.

I preordered this the moment it first popped up but haven't had a chance to play yet.

Seriously excited!

Mine's been doing that new face dance for the last week or so. Given that they didn't change it all that long ago - and I'd only just warmed to that one - I was at first somewhat reluctant to accept the latest iteration in my life. We're taking it slowly.

I've heard nothing but blah things about this game.

Project Zero? I never got around to it! Heard good things, though.

Whilst we're derailing, I really need to get around to playing System Shock 2 again, all shiny with its new patch and that. (Installed and ready to go!)

I keep telling myself one of the reasons I got it on PC rather than XBox was in the hopes a free aim mode would be patched or modded in - and then I'd be able to put my mouse to full effect... But I reckon a controller is probably the way to go, at least for now. More than once I've lobbed a grenade in the wrong spot because of all that jumpiness. Best case, they go slightly askew and do less damage; worst, they fall at my soldier's feet and blow him sky high!

Also, I clearly bought the PC version for the anti-cheating mod.
