Yea, banking is good for when you  need those actions.  If you're going to go over cap just spend them on stuff that produces more incense or moonstone or sunstone, etc.  Iirc that only expands your personal options without increasing faction power directly.  I may be mistaken about that though.

The only problem is then you have to fight the temptation plop out a dozen myth units just because you can.

That's how I lose most of my matches.  The same thing always happens to me in Sim City.  Go figure.   ???
But what if you plop them out evenly?

Where's the !!!FUN!!! in that?

No one wants to watch a perfectly balanced see-saw.  We want to see the fat kid make someone get airborn!  >D

One of my first heli-sims had a cardboard that you can place over your keyboard!

Seems like a lot of TI-99/4A did the same thing.  Or was that C64?

Anyway, great job on the resource chart.  Since it's a holiday weekend here at work and most folks have left already, I think I might "borrow" the plotter for a jumbo size wall poster for my office.   ;D

Skyward Collapse / Re: Suggestions from Steam users

EDIT:  Wow, so far, as steam comments go.... nothing bad so far, really.   I seem to recall that both Valley games were getting some nasty comments at the start (with people being so divided on those 2 games), but so far this one doesnt have any of that sort.  A little confusion from players on some aspects, but that's it.

And that's a good thing, lol, as I tend to find that the Steam boards for LOTS of games are often filled with "BLARGH ARGH THIS SUCKS" right from the start.  Actually, I cant think of one I've been to that isnt...

Looking good so far though.

Yeah, I was really surprised by this.  Maybe the trolls just haven't found the board yet.

It's also pretty high up the Top Seller's chart.  Probably too early to call it either way, but it seems to be doing pretty well so far!

Yup, that sounds like a good plan to me.  Will implement today. :)

And there was much rejoicing!

Atlas Shrugs
  • The world is jostled, and all of the land that is just outside of the radius of each town collapses into empty space.
  • Thanks to mrhanman for suggesting.

My proudest moment!  :'(

RPS' and IndieGames' commenters really seem to automatically hate Arcen for some reason.  I thoroughly believe that you could take a masterpiece of gaming (something akin to Super Mario Bros. 3), slap Arcen on the title screen, and those people would piss all over it.  Without bothering to play it, of course.

If you clinically marvel at the herd mentality, it becomes much less infuriating.  Then again, I'm just a member of the 'Arcen' herd, so what do I know?

To me it's like trying to choose between the guy who doesn't ask for much but can be a very picky and a lying bastard at times vs. the guy who asks for a lot and is hard to please but isn't quite as picky and stays pretty honest.
Both don't sound good so it's up to you to choose who looks like the lesser evil.

What an odd analogy.  ???

Atlas Shrugs!  Several tiles are destroyed by a violent earthquake, mostly concentrated around one town center or another.

* Trade and diplomacy aren't available in the first game.

Maybe I misread something in another thread, but isn't trade going away?

Vengeful Developer!  The game's difficulty increases suddenly for the duration of the cataclysm because too much winning is going on.  8)

Black Death!  A plague wipes out 75% of all dudes in a town.

I was about to post in the other thread about more explicit direction being needed.  A list of objectives, along with a more helpful UI and tutorial.  That's mainly it, other than polish.

I won't refuse to see it, but I certainly won't watch it in the theater.  But then, very few movies are worth that trouble.

If I let an author's/actor's/musician's politics get in the way of my enjoyment of a particular book/movie/song I'd hardly ever read/watch/listen to anything.

That said, I think there is little hope that an acceptable movie adaptation can be made of Ender's Game in today's Hollywood.  I mean, it looks like they showed the destruction of the bugger's homeworld in the trailer.  WTF?  ::)

Still, as one of my top 10 sci-fi novels, I hope it's awesome!  8)
