So when we do kill the overlord, that's it? All done, pack your bags, move on to the next campaign? You said that you can continue but why would you if the overlord was dead?  :-\

On the other hand I really like the greater emphasis on the city building and having npcs doing jobs for you. Plus the look of the game is shaping up well.

Oh and hi again, I haven't played AVWW in ages and have posted much, but I've always been watching.

I always feel like he's just hanging out in his castle and we just randomly bust the door down and start smacking him in the face.

I would like to see them (along with the lieutenants) act more aggresive towards the player and do things that are actually tangible. It would be much more satisfying to kill the bad guy when he has actually done something bad to you, not so much when you're just supposed to believe that he's done bad things.

A mission to clear the first chunk of the area of any enemies should be required at the very least before the building can be built.
As much as this makes sense, wouldn't this be really tedious?

Maybe it could be something you send an npc to do on a dispatch mission?

Just finished reading up on the last few updates. Wow the game has changed so much.

I'll admit I haven't been paying much attention to AVWW in the last week or two. Sounds exciting. :D

This is the latest from Studio G.  Their comments:

I have attached some variations.
In AVWW_1.jpg the character has a sharper shading, while the others are smoother. The other difference between them all is just the background color.
The grass is not created as tiles yet, it's just a quick draw, but the grass tiles won't be much different from that.

Wow these are really cool. I've been a bit of the AVWW loop for the last while so it's really a huge surprise coming back to all these changes.

I think the third one is my favourite out of all the pictures so far.

Although I personally prefer how the ground/grass looks in the previous more cartoony works. The grass in these newer pics look a bit flat. Apart from that I like the latest ones the most, so much more detail on the buildings and the character.

It's probably been mentioned before but for a kickstarter reward you could always have your other two games A.i War and Tidalis as rewards....for people who have AVWW but not the other two of your games.

It would make for a good incentive.

Maybe you could also include soundtracks too?

Wow this is definitely a huge undertaking. I never hated the graphic style of the game, I suppose individually everything does look fairly nice...it's just when it all starts coming together some things just clash.

I wish I knew some sprite artists personally (with previous game experience)  but I don't really. :( I hope you find the artist you need.

I'll support this as much as I can though. (like with Kickstarter)

AVWW Mods & Maps / Re: [GFX] A Valley With More Depth (v3.1 WIP)

I've been looking at this for a while...

Honestly I prefer the default graphics. These new graphics just seem too dark for me. :-\

Personally I think the freefall missions are worse now.

They're actually harder now in that they are just so much more random with explosions going off literally everywhere. It's pretty much just a case of trying to tank all the damage.

Didn't enjoy it at all.

Are you talking about the cave one or the building one?

The cave falling missions still has lots of crazy nonsense going on in them, and they stated still need some balance work.

The indoor, building falling missions are, IMO, a pretty good state right now.

Yeah I think it was an underground one.

I'm not sure if it's just a visual thing or something that will be problematic. (as I've just come across it) but when I loaded up the new update I was in a battle and lost some health....but I didn't get that health back and now I have a different max health than I had before. (and it says when I mouseover that I have 180 out of 180 max health....but the health bar says 179.1)

Strange one.

I was thinking it could be interesting if there was a way to use the ships after you liberate them (and don't destroy them)

If I was a smart survivor I'd want to take advantage of what I can.

Just had a play with the latest update.

I absolutely love the freefall missions, it really pulled me in when I was playing it. So tense.

Definitely one of my favourite missions now.

Almost voted Lieutenant but something about it felt a bit....obvious.

So I went for Ocean 2 in the end.

I was actually going to suggest the same thing a while ago, I think it's a great idea.

I'd agree too that while still informative the in-game encyclopedia is a bit lacking and as was said there's no search bar.

Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to have a second resource.
