A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 / Valley 2 - Bug or Something I'm missing?
« on: December 20, 2012, 11:37:00 PM »
Hey everyone,

I just started trying the Valley 2 Beta when I got stuck during a level.
If you look at the screenshot you can see that there is very little room between the two platforms I'm supposed to jump to in order to reach the door,
and I have thus been unable to reach said door.
Is this some sort of a bug with the level generator or am I missing a certain trick to getting through that narrow entrance?

EDIT: And of course I forget to actually include the screenshot.. I'm a forum pro.

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 / When do you unlock Enchantments?
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:45:24 PM »
Hi there,

I was wondering what the calculation is for unlocking enchants.
For example, does it work something like this? First enchant : 100 points, second : 200 third : 300 etc?
Was just wondering since it's been a while since my last enchant unlock.

Also, Is there a specific reason they are called enchantments?
I was thinking, since you equip them to your specific bodyparts,
doesn't it make more sense to call them ''enhancements'' instead?

cheers, Tagek

I believe that when your character dies it still says ''settlement morale was lowered'' or something along that line anyway.

Ahh thanks for clarifying, I died about 20 times believing I was doing something wrong.

On that topic though, settlement morale doesn't actually do anything anymore, does it?

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 / Crashed speed lander mission issues
« on: February 06, 2012, 04:02:44 PM »
Hey guys,

I was trying to do a crashed speed lander mission, and found it to be utterly impossible.

First of all they appear (like 10 of them) in the pre-mission area, which is very deadly.

Secondly, during the actual mission there seem to be so many of them that I can't make any kind of progress in the mission.

They shoot so many of those exploding projectiles, I can choose to either (failingly) shoot them down or just walk forward and get insta-gibbed.

Is this intentional or am I doing something wrong perhaps?

Awww I was so hoping for the guardian powers etc to be released today!
Oh well, at least I'll have something to look forward to. :)

The Ilari aren't crystals, but none of the art is placeholder, either -- you're communicating with the powerful beings through the crystals, is all.  And they work some magic through the crystals.  The actual beings themselves are... elsewhere.

And yeah, Immortal Defense is awesome. :)

Oh, wow. That suddenly makes it that much more awesome!
This whole time I thought they were actually talking crystals, haha.

Thanks for clearing this up! **goes back to playing the game**

Hey guys!
It doesn't completely fall under the ''lore'' aspect of the game but I was wondering something;
There are so many giant left over houses / buildings that are very intact.
Why don't the survivors just migrate to a large building instead of building wooden cottages out in the snow?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but it feels a little immersion-breaking to enter a giant villa with working light and even left over furniture and then continue to live out in the snow.

I imagine there are two reasons for this: 1) all those monsters; and 2) the Ilari really don't like mod cons.

I missed that question -- the answer is that, without the direct protection of the Ilari, non-glyphbearers can't go out into the world at the moment.  In terms of the villagers building stuff in their own settlements to live in rather than tents, that's coming this week. :)

Ah, thanks for the reply. That knowledge will help alot with my immersion into the world. :)

One other thing, are the Ilari (according to their respective lore) meant to be crystals or is their current appearance just a placeholder type of thing? (No disrespect meant, it just seems a little odd for all-powerful beings to be shaped like crystals. ^^)

The houses give your units more morale and happiness, which in turn makes them produce more resources afaik.
(Do note that if your land is opressed by an overlord your happiness will be capped at i believe 15.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if there are more buildings available than I currently have.

I'm Civ lvl 26 and I have all the buildings up to the library and the warehouse. (Haven't actually built a warehouse though).
When I want to upgrade my house IIIs to house IIIIs it says I need bricks and pottery.
Are there still more buildings to unlock or have those not been implemented yet?

Also, I am currently under an overlord's ''grip'', not sure if that influences buildings at all, but just to be sure.

Greetings, Tagek
