Yes, the fact that there are two methods (outside of "gathered" or "mined" resources) to restrict unit quantity (energy AND ship caps) is kind of odd by RTS standards. Most RTSs only have one such method. However, it also introduce a new consideration (and thus, new ways for strategy to vary) that most other RTSs don't have.

The game was designed from the ground up around the grand strategy concept of having to decide where to allocate your available units across your offensive and defensive fronts. That's one of the reasons I love the game. It would be far too easy, and grindy, if there were no ship caps. It might be amusing to play that way once or twice, but then again thats what the cheats are for in the first place. =)

If you want a game that is meant to be played that way, I suggest Total Annihilation. That classic game also has an economy based around resource inflows and outflows similar to AI war, but with no caps on anything. The units are also appropriately balanced around that type of gameplay, and there are a ton of fun mods for it too. =)

i use to have the game TA:KINGDOMS?????? if thats what u on about lol , loved it , but this is unique,excellent and every other word like that lol

ahh.....forcefields ......LMAO , well cant there be a unlimited, combatant ships for only mk1 lol i find aving a limited amount hard to span 120 planets.unless i have too many parasites :D reclaim wave after wave :D

why is this cheat a cheat , i dont see how it affected the AI until they use carriers a lot :D and means we can build as much ships and other things as much as we want , :( its a shame this cheat stops achievements too i understand why every other cheat blocks achievements.

i wanted to ask, will i carry on makiing ships and turrets  because of this http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,5173.0.html , just as a hobby, and i would like some advice on people who do this as i do it pixel by pixel, is there professional way you create AI war sprites, what software you use and Most inportant question to ask , What is the mask that goes with them and where do i Put it on ship ETC. im really interested in making this a hobby(MAKING IDEAS/CREATIONS FOR AI WAR) CUZ I LOVE THE GAME!! and Canvas sizes or templates?
