After Action Reports / One last attempt.

As probably no one here knows, because I don't think I have mentioned it, I am Mormon. In two weeks I leave on my Mission. (To Las Vegas amusingly enough.) That's two years away from games and the Internet.

So, in those two weeks I want to do something that I have not yet done.

I want to win a game of AI War.

This will be the story of my attempt.

Yet another game enters the increasingly crowded scene. This one is best defined as an ARTS, as you actually build and control units in addition to your hero.

WTF Is...

I have been playing this a little bit since it was a Google Chrome exclusive. Yes, I did say Google Chrome the web browser. It's on Steam now though.

I've found it intriguing but very different. Not sure what I really think of it.

Is it just me, or is there a resurgence of space games being announced by indies or on kickstarter? We have had a serious lack of space games for years now. Suddenly more and more keep getting announced.

I love it. I have always loved space games, no matter then genre of the gameplay. It's good to see them coming back, despite the refusal of publishers to fund them. I always knew that space was still in the minds of many.  :)

The one and only MMOFPS, currently in closed beta. Planned for release later this year. It will be F2P and available both on and off of Steam.

I recently got into the beta (last week to be exact). Man am I loving it.

Tribes Ascend is the sequel to the Tribes series from back in the day.

Take a shooter. Now make it science fiction. Now give everyone Jetpacks. Now make everyone fly through the air at 200 miles per hour. Now make every single weapon a projectile. Then make it free to play. You now have Tribes Ascend.

Just recently released, Sign up for free here. Yes, that is a referral link. It is mutually beneficial though, as we both get an XP bonus when you reach level 6. You don't get this bonus unless you use someones referral link. Don't you like free stuff?  ;D

Play. It. Now. It blows every other shooter you have ever played out of the water. I personally can't go back to games like TF2 and CoD anymore. They are just plain boring now.

Yesterday I fired up multiplayer and played for a couple hours with a friend. We would often get red error messages in the upper right. These did not seem to affect gameplay. They also appeared in the server log.

AI War / Achievement Icon upgrade

So I was looking at my list of AI War achievements on Steam today and was stuck by the fact that AI War has only three (with one exception) icons for achievements (the three trophy types). So, I got to thinking, and I have a question for the developers: If the community were to put together better icons for the achievements would you incorporate these ingame? Would you be able to update the set shown on Steam?
