AI War Strategy Discussion / ARS hacking and subspace signals
« on: March 24, 2012, 06:27:01 PM »
So I was playing a multiplayer game earlier, and we were doing an ARS hack in the same planet as one of our fallen Spire subspace signals. We finished up the hack, took the planet... but the subspace signal was long gone. Loading an earlier save from right after the hack also shows the signal to be gone.

What I think may have happened is the AI's tachyon-blanket response may have shown up the signal, and it may have been attacked and destroyed, but I'm not entirely sure, so I wanted to see if anyone else had run into this before I started worrying about bugs?

Cheers!

AI War / Spire hubs and facilities in multiplayer
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:07:41 AM »
So, I've noticed that while the spire shipyards are 'shared', producing a builder foldout for all players, the hab centres aren't, and there doesn't seem to be any way of gifting them. Is it only the player who uses the survey ship and recovers the shard who gets access to these? And does this mean that we're going to have to alternate shard-grabbing to make sure we all get a slice of the pie?

AI War / Zenith mirrors?
« on: February 18, 2011, 08:42:21 AM »
I notice that they're described as being 'Very weak to... melee attacks, since those cannot be reflected', but I also notice that a reasonably recent update has made them immune to blade attacks and fusion cutters. Might be worth editing that bit of the description?

AI War / Sentinal Frigates, Siege Ships & guard posts
« on: January 15, 2011, 07:07:02 PM »
So I'd noticed in my latest game that neither sentinal frigates nor siege ships were capable of targeting guard posts any more - is this a deliberate thing?

AI War Technical Support / Steam license key not functioning on 3.711?
« on: October 19, 2010, 11:04:51 AM »
Hi all, me again! I've been absolutely loving this game on my laptop, and now that the unity beta's out am trying to get it all working on the desktop too. However... the cd key supplied with my steam copy won't work on the non-steam unity beta I just downloaded - when I enter it I get a message telling me that it's not a valid key. I've copypasted it out of steam, and also tried entering it manually, so I know it's not just me repeatedly typoing it...

Suggestions? Thanks guys :)

AI War Technical Support / Steam version won't even install
« on: September 11, 2010, 04:41:01 PM »
Hi, all,

I've just bought the Steam version of this game, but I'm having some problems with it. When I try to run it, I get the standard 'launching-for-first-time' dialog, wherein it assures me it's installing .net 3.5 and slimDX. It gets as far as installing slimDX and then dies horribly, and I get a bog-standard 'program has stopped working' dialog.
I've tried installing slimDX on its own, and it gets as far as installing directx runtime components.. and then dies horribly :P giving the message 'there is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as aprt of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor''

I don't have any error files from the game files because the install never gets far enough to even think about creating them - I've looked in both possible locations. I'm running Vista Ultimate 32-bit, my .net 3.5 is up-to-date (uninstalled and reinstalled while trying to get this game to work)...

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Tharrick
