AI War / Regarding Astro Train Stations
« on: February 06, 2010, 02:34:30 AM »
So... I got tired of having the trains come through my systems, and decided to destroy the station. I put down 15 laser turrets and 15 mrl turrets, but to my dismay, they were still at 70%+ hp after a good forty five minutes of letting the turrets shoot them. There must be either a way to destroy them efficiently that I'm not aware of, or there is something wrong. I will appreciate any insight.

AI War / Bulletproof Fighters - Useful?
« on: February 05, 2010, 08:47:35 PM »
I played a game starting with bulletproof fighters. They seemed ok, but generally not as good as regular fighters, because the AI rarely constructs basic turrets, and fighters do so little damage to other fighters in the first place. The only real upside is that they cost metal only, which is helpful if you're overloaded with metal. I think they need some kind of a tweak to make them more attractive, but I could be wrong. Interested to hear your opinions on this.

Hello.

Please use this thread to post your Steam Names and time zones, availability, etc. for getting co-op games together.

My steam name is Thinking42Man, and I am in the Pacific time zone (GMT - 8, I believe). Please add me if you'd like to get a co-op game going.

AI War Strategy Discussion / Lower Tier Ships and Defenses - Any Value?
« on: February 05, 2010, 08:55:55 AM »
I'm just wondering, is there any reason to build, for example, a Mark 1 Fighter when you have unlocked Mark 2 Fighters? I was looking at their stats, and the doubled price seems to be trivial compared to the awesome tripling or quadrupling of their other stats, especially when the energy cost is the same.

Kind of lame to have so much obsolescence, but that's just my opinion.
