The only ship that I'll consider rerolling for is the Blade Spawner. Even then, only if the AI gets it to start with or early game.

In a recent game, I unlocked the Mark III version of the Spire Corvette. I had also captured an Advanced Starship Factory, so I had access to the Mark IV version as well. However, in the Ship Design tab under controls, I didn't have an option to create designs for the Mark IV, even though I could build them.

Am I just missing something, is it a bug, or are you just not supposed to be able to make mark IV custom designs?

Is there a place that shows the firepower value of each ship? For example, an artillery golem that spawns as part of an exo-galactic wave has 2500 firepower. I'm kinda curious what other ships are worth.

Having said that, with that many home planets, why are you not just bum rushing the AI?, you should have enough K just from your home planets.

I usually play with core shields turned on, so that I can't just do that.

Also, I like the Fallen Spire campaign so I usually play that out to the end.

My goal has been to push the AI to be as angry at me as possible, so I'm working my way up the difficulty levels with many of the side plots and multiple homeworlds. Seeing dozens of HKs and a nearly 100 golems coming at me is not that uncommon in the end game.

That shouldn't be a problem, they give you access to two very powerful ships, but they're produced at the rebel colony and can't be upgraded, so they don't add anything to the space dock or science vessel menus.

Ah, I see. I've never tired them so I wasn't sure how it would work out.

Fair enough. I was just curious if it was a known thing or not.

On the cap at 12 HW idea, how does that interact with saving rebelling human colonies? I seem to recall reading that they also give you bonus ship types.

And yes, my CPU is not too happy with me.

So, I decided to try something a little different. I started with 14 homeworlds (traders, hard golems and spirecraft, fallen spire, resistance fighters). The interesting thing was that both the science vessels and my shipyards can only show 20 different ship types. When I get new ship types (from capturing an ARS) it forces an existing type out of the list. For example, I started with Spire Tractor Platform as one of my ship types. It is still in my production queue that is set to cycle, but I can't research new versions of it, or add it to the production queue of other shipyards.

Has anyone else ever encountered this before, and is there a way to fix it?

I started with two home planets on and X type map (120). I had the central planet bottleneck hard, so I could fight off exo galactic spawns relatively consistently. I was playing 7.6/7.6 tag teamers, with Hard Golems, Hard Spirecraft, Fallen Spire, and Zenith Traders. There weren't many progress reducers in the map (no super terminal), so progress was getting kinda out of hand.

I play on 10+ speed the whole time, so that's why it was a high game time.

I ended up just going for the alt victory condition. This did indeed kill me, but I kinda knew it would be big, so I saved before I triggered it. It was more a matter of wanting to see just how much the AI would spawn at once.

With the spirecraft attritioners, it says that the attrition rate is "much greater" than a fixed emitter. But, how is attrition calculated, and how does it scale with the different marks.

I couldn't find anything on the wiki. If I missed it, just point me in the right direction.

Do AI ships that are stored in carriers or barracks count toward the total number of ships listed under the Galaxy Stats -> Enemy Ships heading?
