Now it's becoming more clear.

I need to try again tonight building less resource hungry items because I simply got walked over by the AI after my third planet grab, the wave of 2,500 was just way too big for me (I was maxed out too).

Which brings me on to the question, if I'm only allowed to build ~120 of each unit how on earth can I take on the AI and where does the figure of 30,000+ units come from?

Or you could start with more start-planets.

Though I think I'm the only one insane enough to play like this as the moment. I guess someone has to, to try and shake out the odd bugs with this mode.

What mode is that?

I noticed that version T makes power requirements a LOT higher, is this correct?

I loaded up versus a 6 and 7 AI, the 7 start with around 700k points, after about an hour the wave of 2,500 ships wiped me out because I simply couldn't build and support that many!

I live in the UK, I am only available to play in the evening.

Pretty much the same here. UK/GMT.

Available for a few hours once or twice a week, Sat and Sun are more flexible in that I could play 3-4hrs, perhaps more.

I actually have a week off work next week so I'll be more flexible and be able to play in the day.

I don't have a headset at my girlfriends house but I can get one.

I also don't have xfire as I haven't really 'gamed' for years, I'm very much the casual gamer these days dipping in and out when I have time.

Well, having neutral third parties like the Zinth in the galaxy has been requested for expansions, but that's probably the closest this would come.

I like that idea.
