A 6.1 release would work pretty well for the seperation I think. Not necessarily one that needs to be published to the distributors, just a patch file put out on the forums that we can share around as needed I think.

(I am running Mint on mine... and all the other geeks in the mission are putting it on their USB's too.)

While my fleet was away an Exo happened. Now, my defenses can handle Exo's at the moment.

What they can't handle is an Exo PLUS 2k threat deciding to join in.

And unfortunately I am out of time. I will not be able to finish this game.

It was fun though. :)

And I will be back. I promise.

Things were proceeding pretty well. I hadn't lost many ships in the first few jumps.

Then I hit a Special Forces Alarm.

And it triggered.

11000+ ships are now headed for my fleet.

Wait, why would I care about threat appearing when I am attacking the freaking homeworlds? I don't think threatening belongs on the core list.

There are TWO AI homeworlds, and you can easily lose to threat given enough of it.

For something not mobile, Orbital Mass driver, it doesn't have the HP or damage to be worth the cost.

Yeah, they cost 3.6mil M+C, have 1.8mil hp (I lost one to a single siege SS recently), and hit for 900k every 10 seconds, or 90k dps.

In comparison, a single Spire Frigate:

Costs 88k M+C, has 5mil hp, and hits for 2mil every 8 seconds, or 250k dps.

Even with the vast power difference between a FS campaign and a normal one, that's far too weak. You can rescue just the refugee ship for the four spire frigates and have no Exo's, and have 11 times the firepower, and 11 times the hp for a tenth the cost. The tradeoff? You lose range, but gain mobility.

I think those things need a buff.

I'll try a beeline first and see if I can handle the deepstrike. That's quick to test.

If that doesn't work I will go planet hopping. The AIP shouldn't be a problem since this is the last shard and I should be winning within an hour of bringing it back.

Question: Do I need to TAKE a planet every four hops or just kill it off?

EDIT: The latter.
