FAQ needs updating... Keys can (apparently) now be redeemed!

You are correct, thanks for pointing this out.

Off Topic / Re: Torchlight 2 release date actually announced.

Three weeks from yesterday, Sept. 20, 2012.

Source: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=32505

I bought this on pre-order months ago. So, I'm excited for this, even if I will likely be too busy to play much. :)
If you are a betting type I bet that it won't be released on this day. Because it used to be End of July, then  Summer and now this. I have absolutely no faith in this new promise. However frustrating is Blizzard's "when it's ready" it's more honest.

While I understand your sentiment, I'll point out a couple things:

1.) Runic has been open about their process lately, explaining why things took as long as they did, and going through what they were doing each week to complete the game.

2.) Runic has never given an exact release date to this point. It was always "July" or "End of Summer". This is the first time that they've ever said "On THIS date". Plus, with reading their "Not a blog" feature on their forums, it had been apparent for a few weeks that they really were getting close.

AI War Technical Support / Re: GameStop Registration

It's possible. I'm pretty sure they've done that with our other games. That said, I'm reluctant to promise that, since I'm not aware of GameStop saying that they would do so.

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 / Re: enemy glossary
« on: August 30, 2012, 08:26:01 PM »
You can identify the enemy and find out the info you need on it by hovering over the enemy while the game is paused.

As for why there aren't wiki pages about them, that comes down to the fact that we just don't have time for that. If you or any members would be interested in doing that, let me know and I'll get you wiki editing access.

That said, adding any pics for that kind of thing would be premature right now, as all the graphics are going to be changing.

Aye, I've had the idea of doing this very thing myself, but the changing art is the reason why I havent.  Particularly since some aspects like enemy/boss size might also change, which might entirely change how the monster in question works.

Be pretty silly to write all that up, get it finished, and then BAM art update done and suddenly none of the pages make sense anymore.

Once that's done though, I could probably do most of this, if there seems to be enough interest/reason to do so.   I do think having a "bestiary" section or whatever on the wiki makes sense.

I completely agree that it's a good idea. And, I thank you in advance if you do indeed do this after the art change. :)

I'm pretty sure the Draconites are in the Lava Flats.

A Valley Without Wind 1 & 2 / Re: redeem on steam?

tigersfan, maybe it worth to mention it to Steam guys? I mean, "blah, blah, blah, just in case you wondering, your delay reduced our user base for some people who stopped to play after beta due this registration issue. Have a nice day". Something like this?

We've mentioned this. When we ask them about this issue, they don't respond. I'm sorry, I wish I could tell you more, I really do, but, there's nothing more to say.

... Then after that it's mostly more levels, more enemies, etc. we already have about 80 enemies and some 20+ enemies, though.

I think you mean about 80 levels? and 20+ enemies? Otherwise, why haven't I seen these other enemies? :)

I think we're still shooting for hopefully next month. But, there really are too many balls still up in the air to be able to give an accurate timeline.

I'm not saying they have to get the Steam keys for the prior purchasers in the first place, but if they aren't willing or able to do it for whatever reason just come out and say it. Don't string people along.

I'd like to think that most of the folks that know us well know that we wouldn't string folks along. The last couple times we've asked Valve about this issue, we've received no response. That's the truth. If I had any more info, I'd give it.

Sorry if i ask stuff that puts you all on the spot, i'll try not to do that, and if i ask stuff thats kinda out of bounds, just say,
"hey, we're not that ready yet!"   :)

Sorry,

Nothing to apologize for. We don't mind the questions. I know how to dodge the ones I don't want to answer yet. :)

Shattered Haven / Re: Shattered Haven -- Another Upcoming Project

:) Quick question if i can?  Will we be able to have families? Like husbands, wives and children, or neighbors or npc's that we will take care of as we roam and scavenge and fight off the graymen? Or like Lode Runner, will we be single characters moving from level to level? and Will we be able to customize our character? Perhaps like what we use for weapons, or perhaps those will vary by level and not by character, if that is so, will we be able to customize our character somehow? Or choose from different characters?

I hope I'm not saying too much here, but... the story does involve a family, but each player only controls one character. As this game is more story driven than any other game we've done, there's not a lot (or any, really) customization of characters in the game. Though, there is a little bit of character improvement in the game.

As for weapons, in many cases, the weapons are level based.

Just a quick question, but what does the new engine bring that the old engine did not?
And perhaps you are not ready, and it may be best to wait, but i am dying to see some screenshots of the new game.  :)

-Teal

New engine brings, among other things, the ability to have a Mac version easily, as well as internal consistency with all our other games.

As for screenshots, definitely not ready. While we have art that is good enough for internal testing, most of the "good" art isn't done yet.
