AI War / Re: Chat Window in Galaxy View
« on: November 05, 2009, 07:08:07 PM »
Oh, that's strange--I never noticed that (will see it next time).

Ugh, sorry.  I am pretty sure I posted this in the Suggestion forum... the school browser is FUBAR.

AI War / Chat Window in Galaxy View
« on: November 05, 2009, 02:00:57 PM »
Another minor and possibly already cataloged suggestion; however, would it be possible for the chat window(s) to be displayed while you are in galaxy view?  I understand that the user input for chat appears in, but the received messages area is not displayed.

Thanks.

(...this browser in school is doing something strange to me...)

Ah, that would be the dream job!  Haha, I at times fantasize becoming 18 years old and playing... err I mean working at home and be sustained!  Would be far better than doing nothing for 5-8 hours a day playing AI Wars/web surfing/lurking around here/other.

Don't worry; when you establish the community, I am sure the rewards will become in abundance (though perhaps less manageable).

I am sure people will appreciate it (mine is loading extremely slowly for some reason both on Youtube and here).

Either way though, I bet this game will receive some deserved recognition.

Though... it would be nice if you guys had offer the game on Lockerz or some other way of which people who don't have access or refuse to use their credit cards online to obtain the game.

IMO this game deserves more publicity.  Should be one of the nominations for best game of the year, in my opinion!

AI War / Re: New low price for The Zenith Remnant ($9.99 instead of $12.95)
« on: November 03, 2009, 10:59:10 PM »
I am just slightly confused about what this covers; the "Zenith Remnant" is still incomplete, right?  Meaning, paying for this pays for the official release?

Pleasant to hear of the price being lowered nevertheless, Chris.  (:
May be a long while before I am able to purchase it though... wish there were alternatives.

ROFL, finding it hilarious with a couple omegas and factories on defender mode rallied to core planets (and losing them).

BTW, the metal cheat shows in the controls area as 1 000 000 instead of 100 000 if the developers didn't know already.

-The splash screen now shows status messages for the progress of loading the game.  This also prevents windows 7 and vista from thinking the program is nonresponsive on startup.

Hallelujah!  I was about to pull out my hair because that darned message kept popping up while I was defocused/etc.

Thanks for providing the community with trials!

AI War / Re: savegame directory?
« on: November 02, 2009, 08:43:48 PM »
Sorry, should have been more concise with that question.

The game is able to see the savegames in the program files portion, but for the one in Users\ (the game saves files to this location) it does not read the ones within unless copy and pasted over to the program files directory.

Thanks a lot for your information, x4000 <or first name here>!

AI War / savegame directory?
« on: November 02, 2009, 05:44:25 PM »
I'm wondering why savegames are being saved to "C:\Users\Spikey00\AppData\Local\AIWar\Save" (Windows 7) instead of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Arcen Games, LLC\AI War\" (set in settings menu)?

I don't know why it is doing so, but it may have something to do with the OS...  Is there a way to fix this or have the game refer to the directory that it is saving in, instead of having to copy-paste (for a minor inconvenience)?

Thank you!

EDIT: *since the game doesn't display the savegames located in that other directory.

Ah, I see.  rofl, at least I have something to customize now!  :D

i.e. best possible planetnames [taken in context]

War was Beginning.
What happen ?
Someone set up us the bomb.
We get signal.
What !
Main screen turn on.
It's you !!
How are you gentlemen !!
All your base are belong to us.
You are on the way to destruction.
What you say !!
You have no chance to survive make your time.
Ha ha ha ha ...
Captain !!
Take off every 'ZIG'!!
You know what you doing.
Move 'ZIG'.
For great justice.

(Since I can't type anything below there, thanks for replying again with rapid succession!)

OH!  Does it accept (I believe) non-ASCII characters?  i.e. "¿"  or 'Cyrillic Million Dollar Sign' that makes text appear in backwards fashion?

EDIT:  Yes, a very silly request (and the board corrected the typing).

Oh, I didn't know you could rename planets via notes.  Thanks for that bit of information!

Makes sense--though my assumption was that having named units wouldn't be that difficult to have in the game.  =/

Crap--sorry, I forgot to ask then; how long can planet names be, and are spaces allowed?

Thanks again for your replies.

EDIT:  Oh, and the game therefore prioritizes planet names included in the altplanetnames.txt over the defaults?
