The thing is, NPCs are never required to progress.  Sure it can be great if that's something you want to focus on, but it's not required.  Just going into a couple of cave systems nets you some NPCs pretty darn fast, so that's where I don't see a huge issue with the actual mechanics.  The two potential problem spots, to me, are:

1. Is the seeding frequency for NPC rescue missions still too low (we adjusted this once already), or are people just looking right past them?

2. Are we not properly communicating that people ought to be going into the caves to find people more easily?

I think it may be the seeding but also maybe I've just been missing them. I'll have a go now and report back how it goes.

Yes I realise that but I'm still having real difficulty finding any npc missions. All the secret missions I find are anachronism or jtp. I will try again this evening and hopefully my luck will change.

If it's a secret mission, odds are very good it's not NPC.  You should be able to tell right from the dungeon map that it's a rescue node.  When you hover over it it says "rescue mission" instead of "secret mission."  Also it's a very slightly different color.

It's odd that I nver seem to find one and I've explored countless buildings in game. Anywhere with a really good chance so I can have a good look tonight.

Just loaded one of my early beta worlds for the first time it's massive and has multiple settlements. Not sure how big it would be to upload though.

Sounding very good bu I'm still having real difficulty finding NPC missions both in caves and buildings this has especially been a problem on my second continent.

Need NPC's to use powers and can't find the ones I need anywhere.

Do you mean the suggested inability to warp? How do you feel about the idea without that aspect?

I like the idea in general and Bluddy's idea of making wind shelters into safe havens sounds good too. Would be nice to maybe have enchants help with the difficulty in this kind of exploration. I strongly feel the wind side of the game needs to have more impact on the gameplay and any ideas in that direction are fine by me.

I'm not a fan of this idea in fact I'm not a fan of any idea that means I can't use certain abilities this is something I've seen happening more and more as exploits etc get found in the way certain missions work.

My idea would be to make the regions on the edge of a windstorm area still a challenge but make the challenge stronger as you move deeper into the windstorm regions on the worldmap perhaps this reducing health mechanic may work for this. This would then allow wind shelters to make more sense as you use them to actively push the storm further away and allow safer access to otherwise deadly areas. Alongside this perhaps a reason to actually explore deep in a windstorm region could be provided.

Just some thoughts I thought I'd pass on.

You need to use the ports that are spread around the coasts of each continent. Enter a port press E to change into the big ocean going ship. Move to a port on the new continent then just enter port and you should be fine.

All I can say is wow this latest update has really improved things the randomness of the mobs makes each expedition into the wilderness really interesting and the different combos can be challenging with different elemental spells required. With more and more mobs each continent will start to feel really different. Maybe this mechanic could apply to other things in the world.

So far for me I like the new spell range mechanic as it makes combat a little more tactical and at times deadly. No longer can I shoot down the length of a corridor with the monster out of sight.

My fave mob so far is the exploding esper it really packs a punch if you get too close.

Well done guys with one patch you've made massive improvements.

I'm going to have a new episode of my LP up soon but before I do is there anything specific people would like to see? I started off working through the tutorial but I feel it may be more benficial to show some actual gameplay.

Any thoughts?

Perhaps trying the demo first would have been a good idea.
