Sounds very good. Thank you for your feedback. I'll be getting it then.

There are actually a lot of them, by indies anyhow.
If you loosely define permadeath, it is one of the oldest game concepts and one of the most important. Do you get to take a hand back in poker? Undo a move in chess? If you're playing a tabletop game of warhammer 40k, or risk 2210 will the other players let you go back five turns? Forget about losing hours of progress and a slow early game, some of these games require a significant investment of time before you even start playing them. This is not to say this is the one true game model, and we're stretching a bit with various elements of strategy, reversible setbacks, entirely different types of play. The idea of a competive FPS with permadeath is quite ridiculous, but when it comes to an RTS or TBS like Starcraft/Dominions, out is out.
Arcen seems to be the only indie developer that gets raked over the coals for not having AAA graphics.Ever played Din's Curse? =)
Thank you for the extended reply (in the other thread). I'm happy to wait for the release =) I got into Shattered Haven alpha and was not able to contribute, so I decided to sit out this one =)Hello Chris, what is the current ETA for the public beta? Last time I heard it was start of this week, does it still hold or is a revised ETA available? Thanks!Actually, we're not going to be doing one. I realized that we hadn't posted on this in depth before, so here it is: http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,12850.msg146905.html#msg146905
But there is a second round of private alpha that you can potentially get in on if you want!
It's a one programmer studio, and he seems responsive to player requests and complaints, but he doesn't seem to have the update frequency the guys at Arcen do when they're actively working on AI War.
Ah, pity. Still, I may pick it up on sale just for those 14 missions or whatever. Thanks for the report!
MP would be possible for me, except that it's competitive instead of co-op. If I lose, I like to take everyone else with me
The campaign and challenge missions looked to be co-op possible. Tbh the single player content looks incomplete, and that is rather disappointing.
It's good then that I stopped myself from buying this one. I switched to Prime World Defenders - it's a TS + card game in one. Quite nicely done - maybe a bit grind-y but fun.
It's meant to primarily be a multiplayer game. Why wouldn't you see it? Just dive in. What's the worst that happens? You lose?Recently Keith explained why he does not play multiplayer games. His reasoning is very close to mine, if you are interested dig up that message and read =)
