The error is definitely due to the turrets. Oddly enough, the turrets seem to work properly. At least, I haven't seen one walking around yet...

If you place a turret in the savegame you provided, do you see the error happen again? I don't see this error in my current .918 working build, so I'm wondering if this happens in .917 reliably. If so, I fixed it via fixing something else.

I'm still seeing this in 0.919. The only thing I can think of is I am using old save games--haven't tried a brand new one yet. I have tried verifying the game cache, and even uninstalling and reinstalling (not a big deal, given the game size at this point). Still getting the error.

The errors that I see are all from .917. Can you post a savegame in which you can recreate this, with steps to recreate, as well as the error file from it? I just can't duplicate it...

Added a save, and a few of the Error/Debug files. In the save, all I have to do is place a Sentry turret. Actually, that's all I have to do in any game. If there are any other files or tests that would be helpful, please let me know.

BTW, I have completely deleted and reinstalled everything in the Bionic Dues folder, so it definitely still exists.

I'm still seeing this in .921 as well. I honestly don't know what else I can try from my end; as best as I can tell, Steam is giving me all of the files.

I tried both in my working-copy version and in my steam copy (running public 0.921), placing a sentry in both the "FatalError.save" and the "SentryBug.save" attached to the report. No errors happened.

If Unity provided a way to get line numbers in stack traces from a release build, this would probably be pretty quick for us to at least prevent a literal null exception (though there may be something worse as the underlying cause), but alas it isn't so.

... Actually, Chris, there is one way we could enable that: on the "Build Settings" screen in Unity check the "Development Build" box. Normally this wouldn't be a solution because it puts that "Development Build" watermark in the bottom-right corner (and there's no way to disable that), but since this is an alpha I figure having that for a version or two isn't a big deal. On the other hand, there's no telling what it might do to other parts of the game (due to whatever else is different in the player in dev-build) so perhaps an alternate branch intended just for players who run into stuff we can't reproduce and need line numberes for. Dunno, figured I'd ask :) Other than that I don't forsee tracking this one down.

For what it is worth, I saw this one in .921 yesterday as well (on Windows, using a save from .920).
Maybe my project from 12642 can help (although it is from my initial report using .919 IIRC)?

Once I got some Sentry items in 0.922, I tried this again. Still seeing it; files attached with "922" suffix.

One note that may or may not have any bearing: whenever I try to verify the integrity of the Steam Cache, it always fails and tries to redownload something, even if it says it just D/L'd it.

Well, never say never when it comes to computers, but... well, it would be VERY strange that hardware differences would lead to a null exception that deep in our code.

Okay! If you are running windows, then please go into Steam, right-click the game, choose properties, click the betas tab, and choose devbuild from the dropdown. Once you do this, it should be running a version of the game that has Development Build watermarked in the bottom right corner. Please trigger the exception that has been bugging you, and post the result in the mantis ticket -- it should have line numbers that will actually let us find out what the heck is going on there! Once you opt into the beta, you will probably have to restart steam again before the Development Build watermark will show up (aka, before the devbuild files actually download).
