| Summary | 0001368: Default Audio Volume/scale too high | ||||||||
| Description | The default audio level is very high (this seems to be the case in Tidalis too - might be the engine?). Vinraith and I have the music audio level at something close to 2% and the master at ~< 10%. So, the scale might be a bit off too, I guess it might need "stretching out" b/c we are playing in the 1 to 15% range at most (it's hard to adjust when you're most of the way to the left and small changes seem to have a big affect on the level). Either way, I would recommend setting the default master volume to 20% or so of the current setting. Just in case it matters I have an SB X-Fi gamer card on Win XP sp3 32bit - a fairly standard setup. Obviously this is not a big deal either way - just thought I'd mention it while reporting a few other items. | ||||||||

I forgot about this but I agree. I had to lower the Music Volume and Master Sound Volume slides to 20% sometimes lower to have the average volume I'm used to in other games or even when watching videos or listening to music. |

I think that this is just the engine plus your sound card drivers, and how they happen to interact. This isn't a global problem, so I can't turn it down to an inaudible level for some people (who might just assume the game is silent). In this case, I think that too loud is better than too quiet, since at least when it's too loud you know how to fix it. :/ |

Very reasonable - just thought I'd mention it on the off chance it was a wider issue. |

Absolutely -- thanks for checking. |
