DescriptionI have a save if needed, where I just used short wave virus. It converted 1 ship, but another just like it within range was not converted.

I have seen the same behavior with stunner. Some ships are affected, while identical ships right next to them keep flying and shooting as normal.

I had the same issue with the shortwave virus. It appeared to convert about half the enemy ships each use.

Save uploaded. (Divert all power to engines, fly toward the enemy, and you should be in shortwave range at turn 2).

You can see my shortwave.save there too now. Just use the virus on the first turn after loading, it only converts a couple out of the 10ish ships you would expect.

This is still happening in 1.001. It appears it's either not 100% effective, or the range ring it shows is much larger than it's actual effective range.

I am pretty sure it's not 100% effective. I think it's an issue of the tool text poorly describing it -- at first I assumed it would convert all ships, but what it really says is that it launches the virus to all ships. But some ships may not be converted by the virus. That seemed to balance it with the "swarm defense laser", which has longer range but kills 100% of small ships (in normal). If the virus converts approx. 50% of ships, then they would presumably eliminate the ships nearby, making it kind of equivalent. In practice it seems more like 1/3rd of ships are converted, but the virus has more ammo than the swarm defense laser (and is capable of both medium and small ships), so it seemed balanced to me, albeit poorly described.

For 1.002:

* Fixed a bug where the Shortwave Virus's range was being displayed as much larger than the 1000 units specified in its description (and unit definition).

* Fixed a bug where the Shortwave Virus would only affect about half of the targets in its actual range (due to how the data was stored internally; if we later _want_ it to be only partly effective we can add that back in a non-buggy manner).

If you see problems with the stunner or other such things, please submit a new report with a save where we can see that. The stunner wasn't working right until recently but I did fix it to the best of my knowledge.
