| Summary | 0001729: Spirecraft: anti-forcefields | ||||||||||
| Description | This spirecraft specializes in the rapid destruction of both forcefields and whatever else that may be under their protection. This includes both units and the structural forcefield types. -- Forcefields are quickly becoming a problem in a lot of games that I'm playing, and that's due to naturally occurring forcefields, and those of which are spawned by hybrids. AI forcefields have an astronomical amount of HP, and when turrets and units exist underneath them, it surely makes it a difficult obstacle. They're still annoying for when you've already dealt with everything else on a planet and need a quick solution to rid of them without devoting normal military to the job. The reason for the AoE damage underneath it is to offer a way to destroy objects that are protected by potentially multiple overlapping forcefields. This should also affect hybrids too, so it would be another unit to use against these demonic units. If the AI could use this ship too, it would make for a pretty effective counter to human forcefield bearers and human forcefields. Idea could carry on to a bonus ship and guard posts/etc. (As a side note, the AI can occasionally incorporate spirecraft in their garrisons/potentially fleets, regardless of difficulty, right?) | ||||||||||

Call it the Spire Bomber, because that's what bombers are for. |
