| Summary | 0001742: Titanite not seeded on every 80-planet map | ||||||||
| Description | Playing with the Spire Ships enabled, I've noticed that Titanite doesn't show up on every 80-planet map. I understand it not spawning sometimes on the smaller 40 or 60 planet maps, but I would expect there to be at least one Titanite rock on any given 80 planet map (in fact, the most I've seen of this rock is 1 on any given 80-planet map - makes sense given how powerful the high-tier spirecraft are). Thanks for those filters, by the way - they make finding these things SO much easier! Also, I've noticed the placing of these rocks seems to be totally random, and I've had adamantite/titanite can spawn as few as 2-3 jumps away from my homeworld. I think it's a good idea to favor placing the tier 5/6 rocks a certain number of hops away from player homes. The mkV spirecraft are so expensive that it may not make a big difference, but if those asteroids are further out (and not on planets you'll almost certainly be taking) it becomes more of a decision to commit forces to getting them. I'm interested to hear what other people think about this. | ||||||||

* The way that the seeding for asteroids was previously done in the maps, it was random-chance-per-planet for each group of rarities. Now it's percentage-of-galaxy based, which makes sure that it's way more likely that the rarer asteroid types will show up in the game. It's still possible you might not have some titanite and adamantite, but you'll definitely have at least two planets with at least one or the other. |
