Summary0006189: Remove random resources from each continent
DescriptionEach continent is guaranteed to have at least a few squares of each time period. If some resources were not available, it would require players to make different choices.

I use mostly Fireball and Lightning Orb. Those are my bread and butter. A few Throw Rocks for anything totally resistant and I don't every need to leave my "happy place."

I just played on my original world that generated a continent without deserts or lava flats. I was able to upgrade fire ball to level 2, but couldn't upgrade Lightning. I was forced to use a whole different set of spells than I was used to. It was a fun and difficult challenge that made me experiment with what was available instead of just what I always did.

Only removing one gem color would not make a continent impossible, just different. Like how AI War doesn't have every ship type available, only what you can find.

This might be doable later on, but this is NOT a good idea for the first continent.

No, I would definitely suggest it at a much later continent. Not only would it be tougher, but what good is holding spells back if the players haven't come to rely on them yet! :)

I actually like this idea, Penumbra. :)

Maybe around Continent 3-5 or so as it would mean people would have to use other spells for once if they are not familiar with them. :P

I think the problem would be the permanent nature of the limitation. That's why I created the mission idea related to this one, 0007218.

But, yes, I really liked the time I was forced to "go outside" my comfort zone and try all new spells.

Yeah, that idea is also interesting.

Both sound swell as they add a new layer of thought in the game.
