Summary0006210: Keep-alive messages
DescriptionRight now, if you're just sitting around somewhere when playing MP, you're disconnected rather quickly, which can be annoying in cases where you want to take a short break. I thus propose keep-alive messages that resets your timeout, meaning if you're actually disconnected you'll still be thrown out after 30-odd seconds, but otherwise you'll be around indefinitely. Perhaps also adding a secondary timeout, where if you have sent nothing but keepalives you're still disconnected in, say, 30 minutes.

It actually is already supposed to be doing that, hmmm.

Hmm. I haven't tested it in a few versions, admittedly. I'll test it again.

Well, I've been connected while doing nothing for three minutes now, so I guess something must've changed since last I tried. All's good, it seems, at least!

Excellent! I think that was actually just an issue on the world map in the past, but I'm not sure. Or at any rate, when I put in the smoothing I also put in a keepalive for players in the side view; I'm not sure how it worked before that, honestly.

Ah; yeah, that could be it. I've basically only been on the world map when I've connected to my server. Good to know I'm not going senile, heh :P

And that was one we explicitly fixed. :)
