Summary0007176: Enchant Sorting
DescriptionI have three different ideas to facilitate easier enchant management.

A) Have a UI control (drop down menu probably) to automatically sort enchants by slot, type, rarity, etc.

B) Implement a filter by slot. So, click on a button and all enchants of that type are highlighted, or all the other types are dimmed.

C) Add a subtle border or background tint to the art asset to the enchant graphic that varies by slot. [screenshot attached of what this could look like]

I believe that implementing any one of these solutions would make the enchant menu easier to manage and deal with as the player gains more and more enchants.

My vote is for A, but in terms of time spent versus benefit gained, C seems like the best solution.

Yes, with 30 or 40 enchants it starts to get a bit difficult to manage (although the icons have been well thought out and are pretty easy to interpret). Personally I like the mockup you drew for option C.

C rocks. Doesn't change a thing but makes the UI more user-friendly.

I think A or C would both be great. I really like the idea of sorting by groups. I use that kind of feature all the time in many RPGs where you get truckload of items. However I understand that it would probably take a lot more time (relatively speaking) than slightly altering the assets to add a color code - not sure how much it would help color-blind players though ;)

My preference goes to A, with C as a backup plan until more time's available for A.

C is a great idea to me as well because if they are all colour-coded, then the player could sort the ones he wants into rows or near each other himself as it would only be a few drags.

I'd like to add to this suggestion that the latest enchant collected be highlighted in some way. When your concentrating on staying alive and collect multiple enchants added to an already full inventory. Finding the new enchants can be very difficult.

The issue with a high number of enchants became such an issue for me that I now have my own method of placing them in the inventory and rearrange accordingly when new enchants are found.

My vote would be A but I can also see that short-term C would be useful.

My vote is for A: sorting enchants by level/power/rarity whatever you call it would be a huge timesaver for finding the best one of a given type without have to do quite so much comparison between them. (See also Issue 0007234 for my suggestions on that front).

C please. I often have an enchant I want to switch out and end up hunting in the inventory for the correct slot. Right/Left arm enchants are the worst offenders as I get them confused all the time.

I think C should go for everything, spells should be colored by element and enchants by slot.

I also think sorting would be great as well and should work for both as well.

A and C would work perfectly together without any conflict.

C definitely sounds like it could be very easy to implement and is definitely where my preference lies if I had to pick just one.
