| Summary | 0007195: controls option for shield duration | ||||||||||
| Description | Just thinking, perhaps some of the complaints about shields could be resolved by adding a setting to make them automatically turn off after an ajustable length of time? People who want blocking could set it to one second and pretty much have a block spell; I might set it to about five seconds, since I tend to use them most for charging down hallways or breaking out of cover when I'm cornered. It would let you plan how much mana it's going to cost better and avoid accidentally running mana down more than you can afford. I imagine holding down the shield key would override the limit if you want them for longer. | ||||||||||

You know that currently you can already do that, right? Tap once and shield goes on. Tap again anytime you want and shield goes off. |

Oh yeah; I'm not a huge fan of the blocking idea, but I thought having it set to last for a second might feel more like blocking to the people who do. And I do find that since I don't usually use shields unless something crazy is going on, I'm often distracted enough that I lose an extra 50 mana. But more important, what are you doing on Mantis? You should be resting! These tickets will still be here Monday. |

Got it; your reasoning makes sense. I just wanted to make sure you knew about the current thing. Definitely no rest for me today, it's going to be another long night. Even with Erik and Josh working long days today also, it's an all-day job to get the game to vendors and all the stuff up on sites. _Tomorrow_ I get to start resting, if nothing blows up in the meantime. ;) |

Well, good luck! Hope the rest goes smoothly. And I hope to see AVWW plastered all over the internets next week. |
