| Summary | 0000759: Camouflager + guardians = 'fun' | ||||||||
| Description | Because losing is fun! So, I get it - the Camouflager AI is designed to make your life miserable. Scout intel is fairly useless, and even looking at the system is troublesome due to the sheer stupidity of invisible guardians. Problem is, I think its doing its job VERY well. Dont get me wrong, I absolutely ADORE getting roflstomped by flak guardians/raider guardians, but usually I enjoy it slightly more when I see them coming and am able to do nothing. Unfortunately, in this case, its just a roll of the dice every time I go through a wormhole - will there be a nuclear-missile-esque flak guardian in my way? Maybe even a half dozen sniper guardians? Will a tractor come and steal my units? I HAVE NO CLUE. And I detest that. | ||||||||

Tachyon warheads FTW? (likely would wake up all the guardians who then come and roflstomp you). |

That does nothing except get my scout killed - they are NOT cloaked, tachyons are USELESS. they are CAMOUFLAGED. |

Oh, I thought that camouflage was a special implementation of cloaked, I haven't had to deal with that yet... o.O Silly me. Move along.... *is* there any mechanism to deal with them aside from 'stir the hornet's nest with a (preferably) long stick'? Seems like you'd have to treat every system as if it was potentially a death trap and bring in a large fleet (and at the same time pray that there's not a camouflaged eye somewhere) |

sorry I felt that distinction had to be made obvious.. My main method seems to involve throwing transports at them - they are the biggest thing I have that is mostly immune to guardians.. but thats pretty much just throwing units in suicidally to see what im dealing with Thankfully, eyes seem to be stationary and thus, show up a lot easier. |

Recently I have an overwhelming feeling that some of "old" game mechanics (notably more powerful ones - planetary cloaker, camouflage, raid engine, AI fortresses) get new deadlier meaning now. Part of this maybe because I just scouted Mk II planet with Ion III + Raid engine under Mk II force field 2 jumps from my HW. |

ouch :\ I actually, in this same game, had an interplanetary munitions booster two jumps away. Problem is, I didnt realize it until after i spent an hour going in the other direction on an x map... So by the time i realized how screwed I was, the ai had 20 hybrids+munitions boosting waiting for me.. |

I'm quite afraid of what will happen if you meet some of the guardians (artillery/laser/raider) with munitions boost. |

* Guardians are now immune to the effect of the camouflager. |
