| Description | Hi, As per thread: http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,10755.0.html [^] [^] I have some ideas for additional settings that could be added for players to choose when creating a new game world. ------------------------------------ Non-Standard Monsters: What this option does is totally randomize the weakness/resistance elements of every creature type. To make this option even more interesting, the player can choose the option to have this work on a per-continent basis instead. Each continent will have their own flavour of monsters and this helps in making each continent unique in that regard. | ||||||||||

I do like this, but I'd also suggest (as a seperate tickbox, mind) and option to randomise where each arcane ingredient can drop from for each continent (therefore dragging you into different regions each continent to get what you want if you tend to collect the same spells, or making it so you end up with different spells each continent if you have preferred regions to go to.) |

This does seem like a simple fix that, while altering some things, like having things weak to what they supposedly would be weak to (fire things weak to water for example), would add a lot of mystery and surprise to the game. Like: "Oh, fireball was effective the last continent, i'll use it again this continent..." -notices 50% of things have brought their Fire-Proof Vest with them- "...guess it's time for a new spell." Benmiff, the same goes for your idea, except changing where to get Arcane Ingredients seems a bit weirder to me as things like Magma should be found mostly in the Desert. Although i'm all for Cave Enchants like Opal doing a switch per-continent. |
