How to use in your fleet
Unlocking the Engineer Mk III is not a pre-requisite of building the Experimental Engineer if you can capture the Experimental Fabricator to build them.
Note that the Mk I Engineer is more expensive to build then the Mk II Engineer as you start the game with Mk I's available.
