Summary0017373: Crown Income from Resource Generators trivializes the game
DescriptionIn the attached save (Burlust, Normal) I am literally swimming in crowns - presumably due to the habit I made of always placing a ressource generator if possible.

The fact that I do not have to think twice of spending crowns on anything really takes the edge out of the game for me - up to a point that it feels fairly arbitrary and thus not very motivating to go on.

Most things that are fun in the very early game come from fretting about where to place those few crowns I have at my disposal. Military? Commerce for more future income? Infrastructure?

This all flies out of the window as soon as suffcient crowns ar available to do whatever I want - it just does not matter anymore what I do. I can repair everything thats awry in a single turn (well almost). In that regard the removal of the limitation to the number of constructions that are possible at a given time even makes things worse...

And I did not even use a single resource increasing my crown income in this game! All I did was placing resource generators where possible and selecting those social upgrades who increase your income.


Thinking of it, the fact that none of my neighbors seem to compete with me over the resources I claim might be a big part of the issue - aside from resource generators providing such a boost in crowns...

* The number of crowns generated by resource producers has been absolutely gutted (divided by 14 in the heaviest case).
** For a while, the crown income here was meant to be an added inducement to capture resources, but those are really supposed to be an end in an of themselves. Meanwhile, as nas1m pointed out, the crowns from these gatherers were trivializing the crown generation from other sources.
